yartor. tor enclosure.

yortor causewayed enclosure. dartmoor. english heritage mentions it in connection with the bronzage reave field system associated with yortor and corndon tor but could be of either origins. their close cousins in cornwall date to early neolithic. it is situated about 80m to the north of the tor cairn. the built stone walls that connect the tor stones form a circular enclosure which runs down the slope of the hill towards the east. he lower stone embankment has a small entrance to allow access. again as with the bronze age cairn the tors are incorporated into the megalith monument to capture their power as containers of ancestral culture.
