this is one of a range of extraordinary stone that sit on this low hill above st.ives. this image show how the stone on top of this stone stack has rotated clockwise to its fellow stones. it can be clearly seen on the brow of the hill when approaching it either from trink or rosewall hill or from steeple woods. at distance is could be mistaken for a quoit. such does its shape resemble these cornish neolithic monuments that it has been suggested that these stone stacks were in fact the true precursors to quoits like chun and mulfra. #quoits #megalith #archaeology #ancestors #ancient_architecture #stone_stacks #tor #bnw #neolithic #natural_stone_feature #cornish_archaeology.
